Minority Advising Program MAP
"We Are Committed to Your Academic Success"
The Minority Advising Program (MAP) is a specialized unit within Academic Advancement Services designed to provide culturally relevant academic and retention advising in an environment sensitive to the needs of African American, Appalachian American, Asian American, Hispanic/Latino/a American and Native American students.
MAP advises from a holistic perspective addressing personal, social, financial, emotional, developmental, cultural, and ethnic issues that may affect the academic performance and retention of OSU minority students.
MAP counselors work in conjunction with academic advisers in other academic units to provide minority students full academic service. The MAP staff function as referral agents referring students to the appropriate resources on and off campus.
