Annual Graduate & Professional Student Orientation & Reception

Mission

The “Orientation & Reception” has been an Office of Minority Affairs and The Ohio State University tradition for almost four decades – entering into its 37th year. The event was conceived as an opportunity to for new and returning graduate & professional underrepresented students to meet, mix, mingle, network and fellowship with both incoming and current students from other academic disciplines throughout OSU. It is also a perfect occasion for the administration, faculty, staff, alumni and community to come together to welcome these students into The Ohio State University family. Many of the attendees connect with current student and community organizations as well as develop lasting acquaintances and friendships as a result of this event. Historically, it is one of the university’s largest orientation programs and is held on the first Thursday of Autumn quarter annually.
