Ronald E. McNair Scholars Summer Visit

Mission

The Annual Ronald E. McNair Scholars Summer Visit is a collaborative effort with the Office of Minority Affairs (OMA), The Graduate School, and the Student Visitor Center at The Ohio State Univeristy. Dr. Mac Stewart, OMA's Vice Provost; and Dr. Patrick Osmer, Vice Provost and Dean for The Graduate School, particularly care about the post-baccalaureate aspirations of McNair Scholars and want to be sure they can experience what The Ohio State staff and students.

  • Having first-hand information about admission, fellowships and other funding opportunities available while in
  • Having a guided, walking tour of significant places on main campus and also see the beautifully renovated, 10,000 square-foot, Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center.

Ronald E. McNair Scholars Summer Visit

Recognizing the expense of traveling, we will reimburse round-trip ground mileage ($0.29/mile) for one vehicle and provide lodging for up to 10 student attendees and 2 staff for the first ten (10) McNair Scholar institutions that confirm participation. You would arrive on the night of June 28th and depart following the activities on the afternoon of June 29th. Enclosed you will find the necessary paperwork to register your staff and students to participate in the Visit. Please complete and return it as soon as possible to guarantee mileage reimbursement and lodging. If you are certain now that you and your students will be attending but haven’t decided which individuals will participate, please complete the W-9 Form and also return it by Tuesday, May 12th as affirmation that we can expect your respective group to be present on June 29th.
