Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer

Mac A. StewartIn more than 30 years of working with students as they decide which college to attend, it has been my observation that most of them rely heavily, and wisely, on their conversations with students who currently attend the schools they are considering. Input from parents, teachers, and counselors is also important, of course. However, to know how a place may feel to you, it can be valuable to know how it has felt to others who are like you in age, background, ability, and general interests. So as you consider Ohio State as your prospective university, I hope that you will find this website to be helpful. It is made up of valuable information and observations from currently enrolled students. I urge you to use it to supplement the advice that you receive from people you know and trust. I hope that you will not make your decision final until you have visited the university and talked directly with our students here. For my part, I am very pleased to say that at Ohio State, we value our diverse community of students, faculty, and staff, and we strive to serve the needs of community members by offering financial assistance, academic advice, free tutoring in a wide range of first-year and sophomore courses, personal counseling, social events. leadership programs, and many other opportunities for learning and growth. Be assured that the Office of Minority Affairs is ready and eager to work with you when you join the Ohio State community.
